Why Garage Door Shakes When Moving and How to Fix It
A garage door that rattles, jerks, or visibly shimmies on its way up is not just annoying. It is telling you that one or more parts are no longer moving in alignment. Worn or damaged rollers

With the door closed, inspect the vertical tracks from floor to ceiling. Look for loose lag screws, damaged brackets, gaps between the track and rollers, or marks where rollers have been rubbing hard against the side of the track. Dry hinges and worn door hardware
Each hinge lets one door section pivot away from the next as the door follows the curved track. When hinges are dry, loose, cracked, or worn at the roller tube, the panels can chatter and shake through that transition.
Check for loose hinge screws, elongated screw holes, cracked hinge leaves, and black metal dust around moving joints. Lubricate the hinge pivot points with a garage-door-specific lubricant. Avoid heavy grease, which collects dirt and can make the problem worse over time.
If a hinge is bent or the roller stem no longer fits tightly in its tube, replacement is the better fix. Matching the hinge number and roller position matters because hinges are designed for specific locations on sectional doors.
An unbalanced door or failing spring system
A balanced garage door should stay near the halfway point when disconnected from the opener and moved by hand. If it crashes down, shoots upward, or feels much heavier than expected, the springs are not providing the correct counterbalance.
An unbalanced door often shakes because the opener is trying to lift or control weight it was never designed to carry on its own. You may see the top section jerk, hear the opener strain, or notice the door moving unevenly from one side to the other.
Do not adjust or replace torsion springs, extension springs, cables, or bottom brackets unless you have the proper training and tools. Springs store enough force to cause serious injury.
